==Psyche Project== - go there right away for info on our golden oldie hit at previous SCALE events. Currently there are several projects and proposed projects. All recent efforts involve either Asterisk, the open source telephony solution or our Psyche Project for SCALE.

Window Management
Many of us find the existing window and desktop management systems lacking in some way. Some are very heavy and bloated and some are very minimalistic and too lean. The goal is to find a good middle ground with some good basic defaults but with customization and extensibility built into the basic design. This project is still at a very early stage, so if you would like to get involved and have a say in this project from the very start, click on the link, roll up your sleeves and have a go at it. Users and developers of all skill levels are welcome.
Meta Programming
Basically just code reuse. You are already meta programming on a low level if you use more than one tool for a given task. It is the kind of problem that is best done by a community with no profit motives. Not to say that some of the parts couldn't provide a revenue stream, but it requires bringing many different preexisting tools, utilities, suites and other components together in a manner that can only be done in an open environment without the licensing issues of a corporate project of similar scope.
